in the magnificent Cocora ValleY
The Finca Hotel RESERVA GUADALAJARA is a traditional, century-old estate located in COCORA VALLEY Paradise, where dairy cows are still milked, and it is recognized for offering the best horseback riding experience in Colombia. Here, you can immerse yourself in Colombian culture, savor local cuisine, and admire the traditional Paisa architecture. Our six rooms retain the warmth of the family home for which they were designed and built nearly 80 years ago.
At night and in the early morning, the only sound that disturbs the silence is the soothing melody of the La Coqueta stream, which, along with the songs of hundreds of birds that visit our palms to feast on their fruit, creates music for the soul. These fruits are later dispersed by the birds into our preserved cloud forests, continuing the life cycle of the tallest palm tree in the world.
Upon arriving at RESERVA GUADALAJARA COCORA VALLEY, you immediately feel an energy that indescribably connects you to this magical and special place. Every corner has a unique personality, evoking feelings of peace, satisfaction, tranquility, and happiness.
Our extraordinary horseback ride has been rated by many, across all platforms, as the highlight of their trip to Colombia. That’s why we confidently claim that we offer the best horseback riding experience in Colombia and one of the most beautiful in the world
After a day of wonderful experiences, the reward upon your return is a delicious dish from our menu or a campfire under the stars, perfect for grilling or enjoying a lomo al trapo paired with a good wine. Finally, it’s time to rest.
The wooden windows of the rooms, the sound of the wind dancing with the wax palm leaves, and the murmur of the stream make sleeping a pleasure for both body and mind.
Early risers can go milk the cows as early as 5:00 AM and enjoy a glass of real fresh milk. It’s enriching to converse with the people who work with us. They are natives of Salento and preserve the local culture that defines them. This balance between social, environmental, and economic aspects is what marks RESERVA GUADALAJARA with a seal of sustainability..
The next day, to start another “Guadalajara Experience,” enjoy a hearty “tabliao” breakfast with fresh-squeezed orange juice, Colombian tropical fruits, hot chocolate made with milk from the farm’s cows, arepas with local cheese, and a traditional calentado of beans with chorizo.
Our ancestors, Don Jesús Cano and Doña Gabriela Grillo, Don Gabriel Cano and Doña Eugenia Palacio, arrived in Cocora Valley over a century ago and lovingly built this place, which their descendants, including our children of the fifth generation, continue to preserve.
RESERVA GUADALAJARA… You will never forgot it.
